Religious Studies

Religious Studies is where some of the most interesting conversations at Crispin take place. It gives students the space to explore who they are and what they believe about life, to listen to other people’s views, challenge them kindly and recognise that our world is a rich tapestry of beliefs and worldviews.

Every student studies core RS from Year 7 to Year 11. Our curriculum is built around big questions, from how worldviews have shaped Somerset and why the covenants matter to the Abrahamic faiths, to how we explain evil and suffering, how faith inspires people to change society, and how Jewish people have responded to the Shoah. In Years 10 and 11, core RS explores religion through the elements, what it means to be good, medical ethics, and how we create a good and just society.

Students who want to go further can take GCSE Religious Studies, studying Christianity and Judaism in depth alongside themes such as relationships and families. Throughout, we aim to spark curiosity, to challenge and to engage.
