Sociology

Sociology helps students make sense of the society they live in: why people behave as they do, how inequality is created and challenged, and how institutions such as the family, the law and the media shape our lives.

Students investigate crime and deviance, social class, poverty and power, weigh up evidence from sociological research, and learn to build balanced arguments about contemporary issues.
