Modern Foreign Languages

Learning a language opens up the world, and our teachers know this first-hand: every member of our team has lived abroad and used languages in their working life.

Students study French or Spanish, learning to listen, speak, read and write with growing confidence, using real texts and cultural references from the countries where the language is spoken.

Along the way they build literacy, problem-solving and communication skills, and a better understanding of other cultures, which will help them in an interconnected world. Trips abroad let students use their languages for real. At GCSE, most students continue with French or Spanish, and some become dual linguists studying both.
